MATT DAMON!
That will always be funny to me.
I saw two movies this weekend, one for a guy, the other for me. Thankfully I have a temperament that made both appealing to me.
First: The Bourne Ultimatum. I didn't love it as much as the first Bourne movie, but I loved it infinitely more than the second. Some movies don't need a whole lot of speaking and, you know, character development to work. This is one of them. If you like a fast pace, clever chase scenes and great fight choreography, you might like this movie. Plus, MATT DAMON!, who I must say looks more and more like a puffy-faced but lovable pig, is pretty rad in it.
Second: Becoming Jane. I freely admit I've developed an affinity for Jane Austen books -- and their movie adaptations -- in my adult years. Yeah, they're girlie, and yeah, they're sometimes overly sentimental, but so am I sometimes.
This movie is worth seeing if you're at all a fan of Austen's work, and probably even if you're not. Oddly enough, I think the best character in it is Mr. Wisley, played by this guy. Mr. Wisley is tall, light-haired and awkward -- no match for Ms. Austen, to be sure. I imagine if this piece were set in 2008, he'd say "um" and "like" a whole bunch. He'd have a Facebook profile with lots of friends, but he'd probably never be really happy, because he wouldn't know how to go about it.
