Why I'm thankful
Ah, Thanksgiving. It's one of my favorite holidays, and this one wasn't too shabby. We had a smaller gathering than usual, and though I missed seeing two of my brothers and their families, it was good to spend a low-key evening with people I adore. In the spirit of things, here's a working list of what I'm thankful for:
- My wonderful family, including one Simon Sgt. Def Nip (a warm muuhr out to you, Simon)
- My fabulous friends, near and far
- Charlie, the darling, sweet woman who works at 7-Eleven who brightens my day with our brief -- and sometimes not so brief -- interactions
- My job -- although it's taking its toll on me in many more ways than one, I'm grateful for the relationships I've developed there (and for the living wage)
- My health -- meh, so it's not so great lately, but I'm optimistic
- The health of those I love
- The roof over my head
- The food in my belly, when it decides to stay there
- The prospect of not working any other holidays this year
- The glorious splendor of autumn in Dallas
- Yesterday
- Today
- Tomorrow
