Let there be lights

A few weeks ago, I had this wild and crazy idea to decorate my apartment for Christmas, for once, and so I bought some white lights -- 500 lights, to be exact.

Day after day, the boxes of lights languished on my kitchen floor in their original Walgreens bag. I'd stumble downstairs each morning to make my tea, stare at the bag and think, "Maybe tonight, if I'm not too tired." Well, I was too tired, every night, until tonight.

After struggling to untangle the first batch, which must certainly have been packaged by the Grinch himself, I managed to get the little bastards tacked up around my breakfast bar.

Not bad, I thought. But I still had two boxes left, so I decided to coil some more lights around the bannister.

And now it's time for some holly-jolly Boggling.
