Mine, all mine!

A few people have asked why I've taken the plunge into blogville. I'm not ready to give a complete explanation, but here's one reason:

Copy editors are by and large invisible. Night after night, we see our work printed onto pages and distributed to thousands of readers, but we generally get no credit for our creative handiwork. I understand that the job is inherently anonymous, but after four years of this, I'm a little tired of it. Even if my posts fall shy of brilliance (improbable, but no doubt possible), and even if few people read them, it's nice to have complete ownership. Call me selfish, but I do enjoy seeing my own name from time to time.
