Charlton Heston Dead at 83 or 84

Was he 83 or 84? Both IMDb.com and Wikipedia say he was born in October 1924, which would make him 83 when he died. Most news outlets are saying 84, however. Do they know something we don't know?

I wrote the LA Times about this. I can't tell you how much I love the automated response: "The LA Times would like to thank you for your comments." They're not necessarily saying they do thank me for my comments, you see. The "would" suggests they do not, in fact, thank me.

Wikipedia changed his birth year to 1923, but the entry ends with him dying at 83. Bwah!
