Yawning and the like

I apologize for the dearth of posts. As my last entry might suggest, I've not had the energy to do much besides go to work and go to sleep (and sit on my lovely couch watching the first season of Weeds -- thank you, Karen, for the suggestion). Oh, and go to another doctor, for the first one was an incompetent twit (more on that later, perhaps).

Today I received the awesomest get-well package ever from one amazing lady: an envelope stuffed with delightful Office-related items, including an I Love Jim mouse pad, an I Love Jim notepad, four Dwight magnets and a tin of pumpkin-spice lip balm. Karen, you made my day -- my month, really.

Ever wake up and wonder whether you'd dreamt something or it really happened? I'm trying to figure out whether young Simon really descended from the loft by himself. At some point in the night I carried him downstairs. I thought I remembered actually petting him not an hour or so after that, which would indicate he'd climbed back up the ladder. But not too much later I awoke to find him downstairs. Had he climbed back down there, or had he merely stayed down? It's a mystery. I hope it really happened, but I can't rule out dreaming it all up, especially considering that very night I dreamt of dressing him in a Christmas outfit -- which you know I'd never do.

Anyway, it's gorgeous in New York right now. It feels and looks like fall, my favorite season. The city smells much better, and it seems to have a bit more energy (save me, of course). With any luck, I'll be back to normal next week and can experience this season to its fullest.
