Don't give up on me!

This is just a quick note to assure you fine people that I'm not dead ... yet. I'm merely adjusting to my new and rather challenging schedule, and I'll surely be back to more regular posting soon.

I'd write more, but I have to up in depressingly few hours and must therefore try to catch a little sleep.

In the meantime, feel free to congratulate me -- just as I've done myself these past couple of days -- on writing the following headline for a column about the presidential candidates' silence on the topic of the national debt: "Americans Have Deficit Attention Disorder/The '08 candidates are dodging this trillion-dollar question, and we'll pay for it later."

Forgive me this moment of shameless pride. It just feels so good to be back in this particular game.
