Dream a little dream

The other morning I awoke to remember a troubling dream. The dream took place aboard a giant steam boat that somehow was Manhattan. It was dark, chilly and so windy I couldn't quite identify what sounded vaguely like howling. So I followed the noise deep into the bowels of the ship. I entered a dark room, only to discover, to my horror, Santa Claus, bound and bloody, with his head hanging limp. At his feet lay giant batteries and those electrode thingies they always have in the movies. Yes, readers, someone had tortured and killed jolly old Saint Nicholas. Aboard Manhattan.

Thankfully this hasn't been a recurring dream, but I do find myself rather preoccupied with it. I'm curious to know what, if anything, it might mean. Anyone care to hazard a guess?
