Goodbye, Uptown Dallas

Well, readers, I'm utterly ecstatic to report that all of my belongings are out of the old apartment, and I've turned in all of my keys and assorted other contraptions needed to access said apartment. This is due in no small part to two fantastic men, Ted and Dimebag, who graciously agreed to move my washer and dryer to their (the appliances', not that of the two awesome men) new home in a storage facility in Way-far-north-of-here-land. (I suppose the aforementioned awesome men could in theory live in the storage facility if they bunked or traded off nights, but that's hardly practical.)

Seriously, guys (and I mean Ted and Dimebag): You made a grammarian's day. Hell, you made a grammarian's month! Not only did you move two heavy appliances in the heat of the day (and it was HOT in Dallas today, readers), but you kept me laughing almost the whole time. AND you didn't make fun of the way I lumbered into the truck bed or the way I nearly fell flat on my face outside the U-Haul store. T&D Inc., you rock. Yea, you rock and roll.

So, I'm free of Uptown Dallas, praise be. I'll miss the kindly older couple from the convenience store in the old complex and the Albertson's guy with all of the tattoos and the lip ring, and I'll miss Nora from Walgreen's. But the rest of Uptown? I'll shed nary a tear.
